The Treatment Loop

A health journey with a rare disease and chronic symptoms tends not to be simple.

As you see multiple types of doctors, they try different treatments and medications, you have symptoms and reactions, you have follow-up doctor visits, and you start the whole cycle over again. Does this sound familiar?

Let’s not even get into the scenario where you have to change doctors because your insurance no longer covers the specialist that you WERE seeing (that never happens, right?), and you have to go over your whole history with another doctor in the minimal amount of time that they have for you even though you’ve had your records sent over.

I’m not blaming the doctors here. Most of the doctors that I’ve met try really hard. The fact is that there’s a whole system working against you and your doctor having more than about fifteen minutes together at any one time.

So, let’s get to talking about Dot My Day Health. There are lots of things on my phone and in my life that remind me to do things. Dot My Day Health is not a pill reminder (though, we may add that functionality if lots of you think that would be helpful). This app is not focused on reminding you of what you SHOULD do.

Dot My Day Health is about tracking what you DID do. It helps you to quickly track things like what medications you’ve tried and what symptoms or benefits, if any, you’ve shown as a result. You can easily view this information in the app or export it to discuss with your doctor at your next visit.

Dot My Day Health is about taking control of your own care and promoting better communication between you and your caregivers. When I say caregivers, I mean ALL of the people in your life that care and give care. This means everyone from medical and caregiving professionals to friends and relatives.

I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones never have to take a journey like this. If you do, however, I hope that Dot My Day Health can help make your life easier, even if it’s just a little bit.
